Making the Team

By Kimani Upshur, M.Ed.

Marcus Bennett has spent two years in his big brother's shadow — and one September, a teammate hands him a shortcut out of it: photographs of the rival school's playbook, every diagram, call, and hand signal. Using it works. Confessing it will cost him his rotation spot, his coach's trust, and the season opener. Around the corner booth at Mabel's Diner, Marcus and his five friends wrestle with integrity, forgiveness, and a faith that has to become his own. A Christian young adult novel about doing right when nobody claps for it.
