Praying Through Your School: A 32 Days of Back to School Pray for the People Who Make a Difference

Teaching is more than a profession; it’s a calling. But no teacher carries that calling alone. Every school is filled with people who serve students each day, and each one needs encouragement, support, and prayer.

The Praying Through Your School Journal was created to help educators spend 32 intentional days praying for the teachers, leaders, and people who make their school community so special. From administrators and teachers to bus drivers, custodians, cafeteria workers, volunteers, and everyone in between, each page highlights a different role and invites you to lift up a specific person by name.

Whether you use this back to school journal before students arrive, during your daily quiet time, or throughout the school year, it will help you pause and pray over every hallway, classroom, and heart within your school community.

How to Use This Prayer Journal for Teachers

✍️ Write Their Name – Write the name of someone you know who serves in the featured role. Praying for a specific person makes each day more personal and meaningful.

📖 Read the Reflection – Begin with a short devotional-style reading that highlights the importance and impact of that person’s role within the school.

✍️ Read & Write the Scripture – Read the featured Bible verse and write it in the space provided to help hide God’s Word in your heart.

💭 Reflect – Answer the guided reflection question and consider how you can pray intentionally for that person.

🙏 Pray – Write a personal prayer for the person whose name you added to the page. These guided pages can help when you are unsure how to begin a prayer for teachers or other school staff members.

🎨 Color & Reflect – Spend a few quiet moments coloring the hand-drawn illustration while continuing to pray over the person and Scripture featured that day.

The prayer box in the journal is blank for you to write your own prayer that is custom to the person you are praying for. If you're not sure where to begin, use the prayer from the corresponding social post as inspiration and make it your own. The goal isn't to write the perfect prayer. It's simply to spend time lifting that person up to the Lord.

Most of the Scripture verses included in this journal are from the New Living Translation (NLT), with a few exceptions. You’re welcome to copy the verse provided or use the space to write the same passage from your favorite Bible translation.
