Art Project Halloween Art Lesson Spiderweb Watercolor Art Autumn Activity
This Spiderweb Watercolor Art Lesson gets students into the Halloween spirit while they learn new painting techniques. Students start with a simple directed drawing of a bold spiderweb, use wax resist to keep the web lines, then use watercolor salting to create a textured, shimmery background and finish with bold black line work.
It is made for elementary classrooms and homeschool setups and is low-prep with minimal materials, so it fits art carts, emergency sub plans and seasonal art. Students explore resist painting, watercolor gradients, texture, composition and thematic creativity, and the finished pieces make a striking classroom display.
