FATAL POLICE MISSION

It’s a relaxed day at the police station. In the locker room, policewomen share lighthearted chatter and gossip about the sheriff’s friendly demeanor toward his team. The mood is warm as they laugh together. After changing into their uniforms, they head to the sheriff’s briefing. The sheriff, addressing the group with a serious tone, expresses concern about the department’s struggles to apprehend a persistent gang. He calls for two volunteers for a challenging mission: to confront the gang at an old store. Officer Olga, a courageous and experienced officer, steps forward eagerly. Bella Lenina, a young and eager rookie, also volunteers, determined to prove herself. Olga hesitates, worried that the mission’s dangers might overwhelm Bella due to her inexperience, but the sheriff, trusting Bella’s potential, permits her to join.

The two officers arrive at the store, where they’re suddenly ambushed by the gang. An intense firefight erupts, showcasing impressive action choreography (a standout in DarkRooms production history, with meticulously crafted visual effects created by a dedicated filmmaking team using After Effects to enhance every moment, including dynamic lighting on the officers’ faces).

In the chaos, Olga is struck by a bullet in her arm. Despite her injury, she fights on until she’s tragically hit three more times in the chest. Overwhelmed, she collapses, her body trembling in shock. In her final moments, Olga’s thoughts turn to her family, wondering how they’ll cope with her loss, and to Bella, hoping her young partner will survive. With a final, haunting gaze, she passes away.

Bella, devastated by the sight of Olga’s lifeless form, fights back with determination but is soon struck by two bullets in her chest. She collapses, overwhelmed by pain and fear, dropping her weapon. In desperation, she reaches for Olga’s hand, staring into her fallen partner’s unseeing eyes, which seem almost glass-like. Bella’s breaths are heavy with panic. The gangster approaches, preparing to end her life. No longer the confident officer, Bella is a young woman gripped by fear, pleading, “No, please, don’t!” Despite her cries, the gangster fires a final shot to her chest. Bella’s face freezes in a mix of shock, despair, and disbelief as she succumbs.

The gangster, cold and calculating, surveys the scene. In a cruel act to demean the officers, he disturbs their uniforms, intending to leave them in a disrespectful state for the press to find, amplifying the tragedy of their sacrifice.
