An interesting but not ridiculously complicated hat. You can style it fitted like a beanie, or slouchier, it’s up to you! There’s five sizes to cover teens to adults.

It’s worked inside out, to reduce the amount of purling, and to make it quicker and easier to knit. As long as you’re comfortable working in the round and have a little bit of cable experience, you’ll be able to make the hat! Yes, you are working the cables on the wrong side but they’re no more complicated than doing them the usual way, and it feels a bit subversive and fun if you ask me…

SIZE AND FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

The hat’s finished circumference: 17.25 (19, 20.5, 22, 23.5) inches/44 (48.5, 52, 56, 59.5) cm.

Depth: adjustable to preference – sizing info is given in the instructions.

Hat should stretch to fit – choose a size about 1-2 inches/2.5-5 cm smaller around than your head.

For a beanie-style, the hat should be smaller; for a slouchy look, choose a size closer to your head measurement, and work a little bit longer.
