Book One: Spirit Babies follows five people through visitations of memory and spirit that arrive without judgment — a deacon, a nurse, two divorced parents, a dying man, and a church elder — each one finally given the space to sit with a choice made decades earlier.

Book Two: The Other Side follows six more — including the author’s own story, told in his own words for the first time — through the same reckoning without a guaranteed happy ending: running instead of returning, addiction instead of ceremony, estrangement instead of reconciliation, and a peace, where it comes at all, that has to be built by hand.

Some of these eleven people found grace. Some didn’t. All of them are finally being told the truth — and all of them, across both books, are treated with the same dignity: as whole people, not cautionary tales.
