Worked from the toe up with a short row heel. The lace stitch pattern creates flames working up the foot and leg.

Needles: 2.5mm, either double pointed needles or circulars for working in the round.

Yarn: 100g 4ply sock yarn, 400m per 100g; shown in A Little Bit Sheepish sock yarn, colourway- The Lone Free Ranger.

Notions: Tapestry needle, stitch markers.

Skills: Judy’s magic cast on, knit, purl, knitting in the round, increasing stitches, yarn over, decreasing stitches, wrap and turn, picking up wraps, surprisingly stretchy bind off, weaving in ends.

Gauge: 32sts and 44 rows per 10cm in stocking stitch.

Sizing: Pattern gives stitch counts for small (medium, large) adult sizes.
