Support your transformations unit with this Dilations Partner Matching Activity. Students practice applying dilation rules to coordinate points while working with a partner and checking their results along the way.

Each partner receives a different set of 12 problems. Problems include figures with 4 coordinate points, including points in all four quadrants. Students use the given dilation rule to find the new coordinates. When both partners finish, their new coordinates should match. If the answers do not match, students know they need to compare their work and look for an error.

Graphing pages are also included so students can graph the original coordinates and new coordinates. You can use the smaller graphs included with the activity, or use the larger graph page in a dry erase sleeve for repeated practice.
