Build Your Own Self-Care Toolkit
What if you had a toolkit ready for the days when life feels overwhelming?
Most of us have a toolkit for our home or car. When something goes wrong, we know where to look for the right tool.
But what happens when our own resilience starts to run low?
Perhaps you've got too much going on. You're exhausted, haven't been sleeping or eating well, or you're spending too much time overthinking something that's outside your control.
When we're overwhelmed, it isn't always easy to think clearly about what might help.
That's why I created Build Your Own Self-Care Toolkit.
This simple, practical resource encourages you to create your own personal collection of things that soothe you, calm you, distract you, lift your mood or simply bring you pleasure.
Your toolkit might contain a puzzle book, fidget toy, sketch pad, favourite game, sensory item, breathing exercise or something completely different. There are no rules — if it works for you, it belongs in your toolkit.
The important thing is to create it before you need it.
Inside, you'll identify:
- Your personal self-care toolkit
- The things that help you feel calmer or more grounded
- Where you'll keep your toolkit
- When you'll put it together
- The first tool you'll reach for when you're feeling overwhelmed
Think of it as creating your own personal resilience toolbox — something you can reach for when your capacity is running low.
Take the time to build yours now.
Because looking after yourself isn't something you should only think about when you're already struggling.
Create your toolkit. Know what's in it. Keep it somewhere accessible. And give yourself permission to use it.
