Indonesia's Monuments of Love | February 2023

Valentine’s Day has become a universal celebration of love, and we have three very interesting sections of the magazine dedicated to this. The first, by writer Dinda Mulia, explores the New Definition of Valentine’s Day moving away from its Christian roots, but still dedicated to love! The second is by our senior writer Sari, who explores Indonesian monuments and important places dedicated to love. Of course, the front cover (for those who had not guessed) is the statue of Lara Djonggrang whose tale of love is very well-known! We also review some of the absolute top places for Valentine’s Dinner.

Also, in this issue, we start our rather important series called ‘Discover Jakarta’ where we will regularly find places of interest for you to explore. This month we go to the new library which is very impressive, and do an overview of all Jakarta’s museums. Finally, we look at things ‘Made in Indonesia’ and start with the magical cloths of Batik and Ikat.
