The Silence of the Fagnes – Oscar’s Notebook, Book 4 (ebook)

The footprints stop in the middle of the snow.

One Saturday in December, high on the snow-covered Fagnes, an eight-year-old girl vanishes during her school’s snow week. Her footprints stop in the middle of the bog. All around them, nothing but smooth snow.

Her grandfather, Superintendent Delhez, calls Victor Lenoir in the middle of the night. Not as a policeman: as a grandfather.

From Spa to the Baraque Michel, from the Signal de Botrange to the tunnels of the old springs, Victor and Oscar Blanc follow the trail of a man who has spent his whole life watching the sky. He asks for no ransom. He only wants to see something Oscar has never shown anyone.

To bring the child home, Oscar will have to choose between his secret and the woman he is falling in love with.

The fourth of Oscar’s notebooks: an investigation in the snow of the High Fens, through storm, mystery and tenderness, on the longest night of the year.
