UK Back-to-School Binder — Printable PDF
Back-to-school in the UK is term dates that vary by council, uniform that costs around £343 a year for a primary child (£442 secondary), packed lunches with a banned-items list, school dinner accounts on ParentPay or sQuid, parents' evenings booked in 5-minute slots, INSET days that move every year, nativity, sports day, the lot.
The UK Back-to-School Binder is a 19-page printable PDF binder that takes the whole school year and gives it one home. Built specifically for UK schools — uniform, packed lunches, term dates, school dinner accounts, parents' evenings — not adapted from a US template.
Built for UK families with more than one child. Per-child pages (info sheet, uniform inventory, PE kit, packed lunch planner, homework log, reading log, parents' evening notes) are designed to be photocopied — one stack per child, at no extra cost.
What's inside (19 pages):

UK nation differences covered. England, Wales and Northern Ireland run three terms September–July; Scotland runs mid-August to late June. Northern Irish year groups are numbered Y1–Y14 (4-year-olds start in Y1, not Reception). Year-group fields throughout are free-text — they flex for Reception–Year 13, P1–P7, S1–S6 and Y1–Y14.
Term dates intentionally left blank. UK term dates are set by your local authority or academy trust, not centrally — so the binder doesn't pretend otherwise. Fill yours in from gov.uk/school-term-holiday-dates (England + Wales), mygov.scot/school-term-holiday-dates (Scotland) or eani.org.uk (Northern Ireland).
2026/27 Free School Meals expansion noted. From September 2026, FSM eligibility for Year 3+ in England expands to all children in households on Universal Credit, not just those earning under £7,400. The binder reflects the new entitlement and links to gov.uk for the live rules.
Format: A4 PDF, instant download. Print at home, fill in digitally, or both. Designed for standard home printers — black & white or colour. Per-child pages photocopy cleanly.
Why this pack: Online planner shops are dominated by US-adapted "back to school" planners that don't understand term dates, INSET days, ParentPay or packed lunch policies. This binder is built for the UK school year and the UK admin that comes with it. State-school first, with year-group fields that work for independent and prep schools too.
This binder is a planning aid. It signposts UK government and provider processes — it does not replace school, medical or financial advice. Prices, rules and dates can change; links throughout point to live sources at gov.uk and the relevant authorities. Edition 2026/27.
Made in Liverpool. Designed for the way UK households actually run a school year.
