Foxy Lady

This design was created in collaboration with Woollala Hand Dyed Yarns. If You would like to use Wiola’s yarn click here.

“Foxy Lady” is a fingering weight crescent shawl worked back and forth from the top center to the outer edge. The shawl is worked in garter stitch interrupted with dotted stripes and finished with beautiful lacey knitted-on border.
You can choose from two sizes, depending on how much yarn you want to use. Sample was made in size L as my yarn had skeins with bigger yardage than usual fingering yarn. If you have skeins with less yardage make size M, the shawl will be only one stripe smaller.

Sizes
{ M, L }
Top edge: { 160, 176 } cm / { 64, 70.5 } ”.
Depth: { 46, 50 } cm / { 18.5, 20 } ”.

Yarn
For this shawl you’ll need about { 760, 840 } m / { 830, 918 } y of fingering weight yarn divided into 2 colors as follows:
C1 – { 380, 420 } m / { 415, 459 } y and C2 – { 380, 420 } m / { 415, 459 } y.
Note that the yardage is approximate and depends on gauge.

For my shawl I used:
C1 - Woollala Sock Merino ( 75% Wool - Merino, 25% Nylon / Polyamide; 420m / 459y per 100g ) in “White chocolate with Spices” colorway;
C2 - Woollala Sock Merino ( 75% Wool - Merino, 25% Nylon / Polyamide; 420m / 459y per 100g ) in “Foxy Lady” colorway.

Needles
3.25 mm (US #3) circular needles ( 80 cm / 32” long ), or size needed to get the right gauge.

Additional materials
2 regular stitch markers, removable maker (optional), row counter, tapestry needle for weaving ends.

Gauge
22 sts and 48 rows = 10x10 cm / 4x4 “ - in garter stitch worked flat with 3.25 mm (US #3) needles, after wet blocking.
Obtaining the correct gauge is not necessary in case of this project, however all differences will affect the finished size of the item as well as the required yardage.
