Riding Into the Heart of Patagonia

Nancy Pfeiffer, a novice horsewoman, journeyed across Patagonia alone on horseback.

Nancy spent two decades and three thousand kilometers navigating horse trails through rugged wilderness, as dangerous as it was breathtaking. Through sun-filled days and heart-stopping snowstorms, every challenge became part of the adventure. 

Over time, Nancy developed an appreciation for the vibrant traditions and culture of the hospitable people who helped her in her quest, from acquiring horses to giving her a place to hunker down. As she watched condors soar above receding glaciers and shoed horses with hardy pioneers, Patagonia silently slipped into her soul. 

In the end, she joins her new friends in protesting the encroaching destruction to the physical and cultural landscape brought on by a scheme to dam Patagonia’s largest rivers.
