It was a beautiful summer day and Amanda was lounging around her apartment, bored out of her mind. She had just finished binge-watching her favorite show and was scrolling through social media.

That's when she came across a really interesting app. It was called Shrinker, and it claimed to be able to shrink the size of any object or person to insect-like proportions. Amanda thought it sounded like a cool prank to play on her boyfriend Jake.

Amanda downloaded the app and paid the hefty subscription fee. She opened it up and followed the instructions. She pointed her phone camera at Jake, who was sleeping peacefully on the couch. With a few taps, Jake began to shrink rapidly until he was no bigger than a housefly! Amanda couldn't believe her eyes.

"Jake, wake up you little bug!" Amanda laughed as she picked up the tiny Jake.

Jake groggily opened his eyes, still half asleep. "Amanda? What happened? Why are you so big?" He looked around in confusion, realizing his shrunken state.

"I shrunk you down with an app. Isn't it hilarious?" Amanda giggled.

Jake tried to stand up but stumbled and fell. His tiny muscles couldn't handle gravity's pull. "I don't think this is funny at all! I'm scared, Amanda. Please change me back!"

Amanda felt a pang of guilt. Maybe shrinking Jake was a bit mean... "Alright alright, I'll return you to normal. Hold on!"

Just then, Amanda's phone buzzed with an important text. She hopped up from the armchair, not noticing the tiny Jake on the floor. Her high heel stepped right on top of him with a sickening crunch.

"Ahhhh!" Jake screamed as Amanda's shoe crushed his body. She jumped back, realizing what she had just done. Horror filled her eyes.

"Oh my god Jake, are you okay?!" Amanda desperately tried to use the app to grow Jake back to normal size, but it just wouldn't work. She frantically pressed every button. Nothing happened.

Jake lay broken and bleeding on the hardwood floor, his shrunk body crushed under Amanda's shoe. "Amanda...I'm dying...I can't feel my legs..."

Amanda tears streaming down her face as she knelt over Jake's still body. "Jake, I'm so sorry! I never meant for this to happen! Please don't die!"

But it was too late. Jake's tiny heart stopped beating as Amanda held his broken form. She had accidentally killed her boyfriend with her careless prank.

Amanda sat there in shock, cradling Jake's lifeless body as realization sunk in. She had murdered the man she loved. All because she wanted to play a joke on him...

What was she going to do now? Call the police and confess her crime? Or try to cover it up?

Amanda gently set Jake down, tears still flowing. She needed to think of a plan. Her life would never be the same after this terrible mistake...
