Workshop 04 What Went Wrong

This is the video recording of the Adept Play workshop "What Went Wrong" held January 5, 2025, with associated slides and activity materials.The recording is divided into two parts, each about 1 hour and 40 minutes long. It is made available with permission from the participants.

The topic is everything I've learned and seen about role-playing as a hobby and alleged industry. I've been working on these views since 1999, and it's come together lately. This is different and better integrated than any previous work, and the activities are designed to put the participants into positions of judgment, using their own experiences. It's not about merely learning what I think, but arriving at what you think armed with more information and suggested historical causes than you've had before.

Adept Play workshops are held during the first week of each month. The next one is "Investigating Investigation," concerning mysteries and detection in role-playing.
