Self Talk 2: Asking Yourself the Hard Questions
Self Talk 1 was about awareness — learning to notice the voice in your head and recognize that it is not the same thing as you. Self Talk 2 goes further. Awareness has a limit, and past that limit is inquiry: the hard questions most people avoid their entire lives.
This is not a book you read once and put on a shelf. It is a book you use — built to be written in, argued with, and returned to. Inside are thirty hard questions across the six pillars of C.I.M.I.A.M:
- Clarity — "Who Am I Really?"
- Intention — "What Do I Actually Want?"
- Movement — "What's Stopping Me (And Is It Real)?"
- Implementation — "Am I Willing to Change?"
- Accountability — "What Am I Avoiding?"
- Monument — "What Legacy Am I Building?"
Each question comes with what it's really asking and the rules for answering honestly: ask to learn, not to convict; stay longer than is comfortable; the first answer is usually the defense. Appendices gather the questions into a quick reference guide and conversation starters for accountability partners.
Ask gently. Ask honestly. Ask again.
