3. CRI-APP-003 — Methodological Quality, Evidence Credibility and Claim Validity
Description:
This Master Prompt would focus on critically evaluating the methodological strength, credibility, relevance, directness, and inferential validity of the evidence underlying major claims in the literature. It would guide researchers in classifying evidence by design, identifying methodological strengths and weaknesses, examining measurement validity, sampling, controls, analytical procedures, bias, confounding, uncertainty, reproducibility, validation, and determining how these factors affect the strength of conclusions.
A major emphasis would be placed on distinguishing what a publication claims from what its evidence actually demonstrates. Different study designs would be evaluated according to the questions they are capable of answering rather than through one universal hierarchy. Researchers would distinguish weak evidence from heterogeneous evidence, conflicting evidence, indirect evidence, incomplete evidence, and absence of evidence.
