A Festive Gift for Deep Rest and Renewal

This Yoga Nidra was recorded on a winter evening with the Sanctuary at Gorton Monastery, held in the stillness of the season and the gentle turning of the year.

The practice invites you into winter rest. A place of quiet, darkness, and deep permission to soften.

You’ll be guided into a cave of rest, a symbolic place of shelter and restoration, where the body can let go of effort and return to itself. From there, we explore a gentle embodiment practice, bringing kind awareness to the body through imagery of starlight and stardust, allowing each part of you to be held, warmed, and softened.

There is a light touch of festive cheer woven through the practice, alongside spacious pauses and moments of silence, making this a nurturing companion for the Christmas period and the weeks beyond.

This nidra is offered as a gift. A way to pause, breathe, and remember that rest is not something to earn, but something to receive.

You might enjoy this practice if you are:

  • Feeling tired, tender, or overstimulated at the end of the year
  • Longing for deep rest without effort
  • Supporting others and forgetting yourself
  • Moving gently in Winter

You’re invited to listen lying down or seated comfortably, wrapped in warmth, and to let yourself be guided without needing to do anything at all.

With love and stardust,

Wise Heart Sam
