Apprentice

Three hundred years ago, Nathaniel, a powerful wizard, closed the thirteen gates, cutting himself, and everyone else on Earth, off from all magic. His reasons were his own, but more recently he has taken on an apprentice.

That apprentice is Quinn, a young man who has no idea that magic exists. He’s grown up in a world without magic, but he knows the lore, myths, and legends written when magic was common. So when Nate dies and magic rushes back into the world, Quinn is the only one prepared.
