In Latvian you don't put a little word in front of a noun to say where something is — you change the end of the noun itself. Māja is a house. Mājā is in the house. This guide shows exactly how that change works, for every type of noun, and when you need it.

By the end you will be able to say where you live and work, in what month or year something happens, on what date, at what time the train leaves, what kind of place and what colour, what you eat for breakfast and what you are wearing.

Every table puts the dictionary form next to the changed form, so you see precisely what happens to the ending — darbs → darbā, pase → pasē, Cēsis → Cēsīs. Special attention goes to where English misleads you: you are autobusā on the bus, a book lies uz galda on the table, and a picture hangs pie sienas — three different constructions for one English word.
