Cherrypool
Cherrypool is a deceptively simple beanie with a striking wow factor. Named for Cherrypool in Victoria’s Grampians region, it draws inspiration from a landscape shaped by rugged ranges, shifting light, and the ever-present memory of fire. A garter stitch body hosts a series of textured stitch clusters, their flickering forms reminiscent of flames dancing across the horizon.
Though it appears richly coloured, only one shade is worked at a time, with the interplay of hues cleverly created through slipped stitches; making for a relaxing yet rewarding knit. The result is a warm, beautifully textured beanie that echoes the quiet intensity of the Australian bush.
Construction:
Cherrypool is worked seamlessly in the round from the ribbed brim upwards. The body of the beanie is worked in garter stitch with slipped stitches used to create the flame-like stitch pattern. The crown is decreased dramatically to create a ruched effect.
Stitch pattern is both charted and written.
