Camera Operation — Broadcast & Live

A striker breaks clear on the halfway line. Somewhere above the stand, an operator with a lens the size of a suitcase has already widened a fraction to give him room to run, and is easing focus as he comes. Down on the touchline another camera is pointed at the manager, because that operator knows where the director will want to go when the ball hits the net. Neither of them was told. That is live camera operation.
