Nya Teatern ("The New") was a theater in the Workers' Union House at Järntorget 8 in Gothenburg. It opened in 1909 and was then run by Hjalmar Selander. Connected to the theater were actors such as Georg Blickingberg, Elsa Carlsson, Gösta Ekman, Torsten Hammarén and Lars Hanson.

The theater was closed in 1925 and replaced by a cinema which opened on 4 September 1925 and closed on 27 February 1955. The owner was AB Cosmorama and there were originally 832 seats (folding seats). In 1930 the number was 701 places but by 1940 they had increased to 909, after which they steadily decreased. In 1935, the cinema was modernized, and in 1943 new armchairs, curtains and parquet floors were installed. The silent film orchestra was led by, among others, Arvid Fagerberg, Eric Hultén and Enoc N. Larsson. The German system Klang-Film from Berlin was installed in 1929 when the sound film became popular.
