Raindrops on Roses is a crescent-shaped shawl inspired by the storms and blooms that spring brings (and The Sound of Music, one of my favorite musicals). This shawl is knit in two colors – one variegated yarn used to represent a field of flowers, and another more solid yarn used to represent gentle spring raindrops falling. The dreamy colors of the variegated yarn are showcased through simple, meditative stockinette stitch, while the beauty of the solid yarn is highlighted with garter stitch short rows and a picot bind-off forming traceries of raindrops.
