'A Taste of Bali' encompasses both the island's own culinary heritage as well as the bustling food and beverage industry that supports local produce and talent. In this edition we take you to into local markets, where many dishes begin; to the kitchen, as we share insight and recipes to Bali's most fundamental spices; and finally, a thematic restaurant tour of different regions on the island.


Through this theme, we challenge the notion of a 'local dining experience', as this term has evolved, and indeed transcended, simply dining at streetside eateries. Global cuisines have a home here, and have been infused with an element of Bali through the island's produce and ingredients, or by talented chefs who introduce their own backgrounds to each dish. 


Of course, embracing an international dining industry does not mean replacing or overshadowing Bali's culinary identity: local dishes, recipes and traditions should be celebrated and put in the spotlight –and certainly are. 


So you'll find the 'local', the 'global' and everything in-between in 'A Taste of Bali'.
