Moon Tiara Mits

Intended as an accompaniment to A Sweater for Usagi to use up any leftover yarn, the Moon Tiara Mitts take similar inspiration from the classic 90s anime Sailor Moon. The gloves are knit from the bottom cuff up, featuring the same crescent-moon lace as the sweater pattern and a simple sloped thumb gusset. For an optional Usagi-esque flair, after finishing the main glove, you can pick up stitches on the inside of the top cuff using a contrasting yarn and knit an easy garter-stitch scallop ruffle.

Sizing

One size. Finished glove measures 9.5" / 23 cm long, with a circumference of 7.5" / 17.5 cm.

Gauge

26 sts x 36 rounds = 4” x 4” (10 cm x 10 cm) square, with MC and CC held double, knit in the round in stockinette stitch using 3.5mm needles

Yarn requirements:

• MC: 110 yds fingering weight yarn
• CC: 110 yds laceweight yarn
• CC1 (optional): 40 yds fingering weight yarn

• CC: Purl Scout Yarns Astra (70% mohair, 30% silk)
