QUR-FUN-001 — Al-Quran Research Foundations, Methodology, Research Questions, Evidence and Scholarly Interpretation
Description
Establishes a rigorous, transparent, and interdisciplinary foundation for designing and conducting Al-Quran-related research while preserving the epistemological and textual distinctions required when working with sacred scripture. The framework covers research-problem formulation, gap identification, objectives, research questions, conceptual and operational definitions, unit of analysis, source selection, evidence hierarchy, sampling, data collection, analytical strategy, validation, interpretation, ethics, limitations, and reporting. It requires the researcher to distinguish explicitly between the Arabic Qur’anic text, translation, tafsir, hadith and Sunnah, classical and contemporary scholarly interpretation, linguistic or computational annotation, empirical observations, and the researcher’s own analytical synthesis. This distinction is especially important because contemporary Qur’anic research now ranges from conceptual and educational analysis to translation studies, corpus linguistics, NLP, semantic retrieval, digital-text authentication, recitation and tajweed studies, and experimental biomedical research. The uploaded studies demonstrate this methodological breadth: conceptual/inductive content analysis has been applied to Qur’anic educational concepts; linguistic research has examined morphology, syntax and rhetorical translation; computational studies have developed annotated Qur’anic corpora and semantic-search resources; recitation studies have employed error analysis and educational surveys; and empirical studies have used EEG/ERP and other quantitative approaches.
