Limitless (Library Edition)

"Limitless" is a commission for the Jacobs Virtual Academy, a program that offers virtual lessons to low-income communities throughout Indiana, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti at no cost to students.

Instead of a conventional SATB piece, the work is written as a multi-skill-level unison-part song, allowing singers to vocalize in whatever octave is most comfortable for them. Part 1 is the easiest with the least amount of material to learn, and Part 3 is the hardest, with the most to learn. The text consists of an Ella Wheeler Wilcox poem (with English and Haitian Creole versions to represent the different communities the program serves), and a Latin Bible verse functioning as a shared refrain. The work was constructed to be highly modular depending upon the singers available.
