[Verse 4] The wife has made herself now ready, Arrayed in linen clean and white; The twelve gates shine as twelve great pearls, New Jerusalem descends in light. The city comes from God to earth; The bride receives her inheritance. The purchased people stand before Him, Restored in covenant righteousness. From every land the tribes are gathered, The blind awake, the lost recall; The Shepherd knows His scattered sheep, And still He calls them each by name. The merchant found one pearl of value, Sold all He had and bought His own; The Kinsman takes His bride in glory, And reigns upon King David’s throne.
