Help Your Child Overcome Worry—Step by Step
If your child struggles with overthinking, fear, or constant “what if” thoughts, you’re not imagining it.
If you just completed the worry check, your result is a strong signal that your child may need guidance—not just reassurance.
This Program Shows You Exactly What To Do Next
Does your child lie awake with “what if” thoughts, freeze before school, or avoid things they want to do because of worry?
Worry Shrinker Lab is a guided, child-friendly program that teaches kids how to notice worry, calm their body, turn worry thoughts into brave thoughts, and take small steps forward.
🔍 WHAT YOUR CHILD WILL DO INSIDE THE PROGRAM
This isn't a worksheet or a video series. It's a fully interactive digital program — the child reads, responds, practices, and builds their own personal plan.
Here's what they'll work through across 6 structured phases:
Phase 1 — What Is Worry? Your child meets worry up close. They name what it feels like in their body (tight chest, racing heart, blank mind), recognize that worry is common and manageable, and begin to see it as something that happens to them — not something they are.
Phase 2 — The Worry Thought Children learn to spot the specific thought worry is telling them — the "what if," the worst-case scenario, the catastrophe their mind invented. They practice naming worry thoughts instead of believing them automatically.
Phase 3 — Calming the Body A simple, evidence-based breathing practice. The child practices it inside the program, step by step, so they have it ready when they need it.
Phase 4 — Choosing a Brave Thought Children are guided to find a true, realistic thought to answer worry back. Not toxic positivity — a real, believable counter-thought grounded in evidence.
Phase 5 — Taking a Brave Step The most important part. The child chooses one specific, manageable action to take even while the worry feeling is still present. The program guides them through this, supports them if they feel stuck, and celebrates when they commit.
Phase 6 — My Personal Plan Everything the child practiced comes together in a personal worry plan: their worry thought, their calm breath, their brave thought, their brave step. It's assembled on screen as they work. They finish with a Certificate of Brave Practice printed with their name.
👀 SAMPLE SCREENS FROM THE PROGRAM
Here's a glimpse of what the program looks like inside:
Screen 7 — "What Is My Worry Saying?" The child sees a warm illustrated scene and is asked: "What is worry telling you right now? Choose the thought that sounds most like yours." Four worry thoughts appear as interactive options. The child taps the one that fits. Their choice is saved to their personal plan.
Screen 18 — "Calm the Body" A guided breathing exercise plays on screen. Text cues walk the child through: Breathe in slowly for 4… hold for 4… breathe out for 6. The child is invited to try it twice before moving on.
Screen 31 — "Choose Your Brave Thought" The child's worry thought appears on one side. On the other, a blank space for their brave response. They're guided through three possible brave thoughts and choose the one that feels most true for them. Their selection saves to their plan.
Screen 44 — "My Brave Step" The child is shown their worry thought, their brave thought, and a question: "What is one small thing you could do, even while feeling worried?" They select from personalized options or type their own. This becomes part of their final plan.
Screen 52 — Certificate of Brave Practice A printable certificate appears with the child's name, a summary of their journey, and the stamp of Benne Hart, their program guide. It can be printed and kept.

💬 A NOTE TO PARENTS
You don't need to be a counselor or know anything about CBT to use this with your child. The program is designed so the child leads — you can sit with them, or let them work through it independently. Most children complete the full program in 2–4 sessions. The personal plan they build is something they can return to any time worry shows up again.
Overcome Worry is part of the Brave Feelings Lab — a library of interactive social-emotional learning programs for children. Built with care. Grounded in real methods. Made to be used.
