Adopted Light
Life doesn’t warn you before it unravels. One moment you're grounded; the next, you're flooded with rejection or invisibility. These emotions are real—intense and undeniable—but their meaning is shaped by the lens you choose. Healing begins when you see feelings as messengers and perception as the pen that can rewrite your story.
Scars, once hidden for survival, now shine as proof of strength. They are not signs of ruin, but of resilience, guiding you back to your truest self. Through that return, you begin to examine your lens—shaped by memory, culture, and fear. If it tells you to shrink, to earn love, or to play it safe, ask: What else could be true? Perhaps abandonment reflects your worth, failure offers wisdom, and invisibility invites authenticity.
As Dr. Minister Ava Muhammad reminds us: “The only reality is the moment… Work with what is present.” The past can’t hold you. The future can’t shelter you. But right now, breath by breath, the light lives within you.
Gratitude reframes the view. I give thanks for joy and pain, for the three mothers who loved me the best they could, and for the family and love that shaped me. Every soul I've met reflects love—whether calling me to give more or reminding me it's already here.
