Nobody moves it alone.

Nothing moves until somebody answers three questions for it: what is it, where's it from, and what's it worth. Olly is the one who answers. He works nights, in a small room with a very big book, and he never lifts a box or opens one. Every single thing in the world has a number in that book — wool, whistles, rubber ducks, and rubber boots, which is a different number entirely. Then near midnight a small cream-and-gold box arrives with one word on the tag, and Olly will not guess. A warm, wry read-aloud about asking properly and signing your name to the answer.
