Bashful Stripes Shawl - PDF Knitting Pattern

When we asked Dianne of Suburban Stitcher to dye a colourway for this book, I knew whatever she came up with would be amazing. And I was right! The pale pink yarn with speckles of green, yellow, & brown is breathtaking!

The yarn may be named Bashful, but I wanted to let it speak for itself. So I paired it with Dianne’s Cinder colourway for a simple garter stitch striped shawl. It’s got a shallow asymmetrical shape that is perfect for wrapping up in.

Yarn weight: Light Fingering
Gauge: 22 stitches and 44 rows = 4 inches in stitch pattern but choose your needle size based on how much drape you want your shawl to have
Needle size: US 5 - 3.75 mm
Yardage: 920 yards (841 m)
Sizes available: Variable depending on how many repeats you complete | Sample is 69.5” / 176.5cm tip to tip by 17” / 43.25cm tall by 43” / 109.25cm on the diagonal after blocking

This shawl is knit flat.

The knitter needs to be comfortable with the following techniques: knit, knit front and back (kfb), & knit two together (k2tog).
