For this video I’m introducing I40292 from the 2026 Akbari dataset. This sample likely belonged to inhabitants of medieval Mordovia. It is unlikely that this profile existed in the Volga region prior to the medieval period. The blend of Slavic, Uralic, and Turkic ancestries indicates a time period of the 10th to 14th centuries.

According to my Andreimix utility, this sample plots tightly with Mordovians and Northern Russians, with even some Tatar groups showing up in the top closest populations. Mixture analysis with andreimix coordinates reveals the dominant ancestry component is the Slavic component, however this sample has significant iranic, balto finnic, permic finnic, and turkic ancestry contributions.

This qpAdm analysis reveals the basic components that make up this sample. The northern european bronze age component makes up 65 percent of the ancestry, with the mediterranean and the east asian components taking smaller spaces in the pie chart.

This neolithic qpAdm analysis run shows the prevalence of steppe indo-european ancestry in this sample, with significant Anatolian farmer, Western hunter-gatherer, BMAC, and Siberian contributions.

A Neolithic run on this sample finds 32 percent Anatolian farmer, 21 percent Eastern hunter-gatherer, 14 percent Caucasus hunter, 14 percent Western hunter-gatherer, 10 percent Neo-Siberian, and 9 percent Zagrosian Neolithic farmer, a breakdown typical for modern Mordovians and northern Russians.
