This design is named in honour of my dear Mum Marjorie without whom I would never have picked up a pair of knitting needles. It’s an expression of everything I love about being a knitwear designer; intriguing stitch combinations, a simple construction and beautiful yarn in a juicy colourway. In this case, I partnered with my friend Molly Plummer of the Mimo Yarn Co who created these limited edition shades, especially for this design. In this leaflet, it’s shown in Sloan - a vibrant semi-sold cranberry red with touches of ecru and claret, and Plummer - a semi-solid purple with flashes of aubergine and pale lilac. It will look fabulous, whatever shade or fibre you choose.

Marjie is a trapeze-shaped shawl that’s knitted flat, in one piece and on circular needles. The centre panel features a Dipped Cluster Stitch that I created to mimic the texture of crochet while the stepped side wings are worked in alternating rows of garter stitch and a simple oversized spot lace. As the Dipped Cluster Stitch can take some getting used to, I’ve created a tutorial which you’ll find here on my YouTube channel.
