Deris is one country on planet Fyrst, one of three planets in Väruld. It is a land of deserts, busy coastal towns and long roads beneath an unforgiving sun, with tropical rainforest covering its southern reaches. Trade and travel bind together communities that differ widely in livelihood, customs and surroundings, from miners and desert farmers to sailors and nomadic herders. The Kolah rules from Fakhur, but everyday life is shaped as much by local needs, commerce and geography as by distant authority. Deris is a place of movement and contrasts, where old conflicts remain beneath prosperous towns, remote settlements and well-travelled roads.
