Checkbook Challenge      

This unit teaches students how to use basic math skills in real life situations as they calculate bills, write checks and record transactions in a check register. Grades 4 - 6 
The unit begins with number sheets to teach and practice addition, subtraction and multiplying money.  These abilities are then used to calculate amounts spent and write the checks that are required, and then record the transactions in a check register.  The unit is organized into two levels so that it can be used for all students.
The unit includes master sheets for computational skills, checks, bills and assignment sheets.
In addition a detailed organizational plan, suggestions for extension activities, assessment tests and  tracking sheets for students are provided.      (59 Pages)
