Check Your Pockets (a short story)

One of the dangers of a childhood spent reading Golden Age science fiction is that it colors my writing. I'll see a perfectly contemporary idea, like for nanofabrics, and find myself writing something that in tone is a lot like Golden Age science fiction.

To put that another way, even as science advances, business dealings, greed, and human nature may stay the same, as this story explores.
