Ahh, summer! The simple mention of the word brings back memories, doesn’t it? Our lives are full of adventures, and this Summer Adventure Quilt helps you document them in the creation of a quilt. Summertime for me means hikes, beach days, camping, and some rainy day visits to museums and kid play places. Last year, I created my first Summer Adventure Quilt, completely improvisationally piecing blocks to match our family adventures in midcoast Maine. I made a tree block for every hike, an ocean block for every beach trip, a tent for our camping trip, a ship for when we went on a harbor tour, and more. I had so much fun and stitched so many memories into that quilt that I wanted to share it with you.
This 30 page Summer Adventure Quilt pattern includes instructions for two different styles of construction. You can create your quilt one block at a time, earning them as you complete different adventures (in which case your finished quilt will be completely unique and will not necessarily look like the cover--but it will be filled with your own special memories!), OR you can simply create the quilt as shown on the cover. I will walk you through both options.
The pattern includes both foundation paper piecing--with 14 unique FPP block patterns, and traditional piecing. With clear assembly diagrams and tips along the way, this pattern contains everything you need to document your own summer adventures in the making of a quilt.
This pattern does not contain basic paper piecing instructions, but you can find a tutorial with instructions on my blog at http://nightquilter.com/2014/06/03/tutorial-basic-foundation-paper-piecing/
