Every harp VST I tried would either have too much noise floor, or would sound too "plucky". With each new purchase, I got increasingly frustrated.
Eventually, I thought, "Why don't I just make a harp VST myself?"
This product is the finished result.
In collaboration with my friend Samantha Ballard, we've created my dream harp. This VST feels intimate, present, has virtually no noise floor, and is capable of incredibly quiet dynamics.
To accomplish this, Samantha mic’ed her harp as close as possible, using an Aston Spirit and Neumann KM 184 stereo pair and recording 4 dynamics (from pp to mf).
I cleaned her recordings to remove any remaining noise floor, and programmed them into Kontakt, ensuring an even bed of volumes and EQ throughout the sampler.
I’m incredibly proud of the finished product, and use it on nearly every project I work on.
I hope you enjoy playing it as much as we did creating it!
