Taking Dominion Over Yourself
Taking Dominion Over Yourself
Hello, my friend.
If you are reading this book, I don’t believe it is an accident.
I believe something in you knows—maybe quietly, maybe urgently—that there is more freedom
available to you than what you are currently experiencing. Not more effort. Not more
striving. Not more rules.
More freedom.
This book is not about perfection.
It is not about becoming someone else.
It is not about controlling everything around you.
It is about learning how to take dominion over yourself—the one place where real authority
was always meant to begin.
“Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image… and let them have dominion…’”
— Genesis 1:26
Dominion was never meant to be external first.
It was never about power over others.
It was never about dominance, force, or control.
Dominion begins within.
For many years, I lived without realizing how much of my life was being driven by habits,
reactions, emotions, old beliefs, and unconscious patterns. I loved God. I served God. I prayed. I
preached. And yet, there were areas of my life where I felt stuck, frustrated, or inconsistent.
What I eventually realized was this:
I was sincere—but I wasn’t fully awake.
I had not been taught how to steward:
• My words
• My thoughts
• My body
• My will• My finances
• My time
And what we do not steward, eventually rules us.
This book was not written from a mountaintop.
It was written from the middle of the process.
Everything you are about to read was lived first. Tested first. Struggled through first. Learned the
hard way. Then redeemed.
You will notice that this book does not speak at you.
It walks with you.
Because taking dominion is not about condemnation—it is about clarity.
It is not about shame—it is about responsibility.
It is not about fear—it is about freedom.
Each chapter addresses a specific area where many people unknowingly surrender authority:
• What we say
• What we eat
• What we think
• What we do
• How we handle money
• How we surrender our will
• How we steward time
These areas are not separate.
They work together.
And when even one of them is left unattended, the others eventually suffer.
But when you begin taking dominion—gently, patiently, consistently—something remarkable
happens:
Life becomes lighter.
Peace becomes normal.
Discipline becomes natural.
And obedience becomes freedom instead of effort.“You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
— John 8:32
My prayer is simple:
That as you read, something clicks.
That something lifts.
That something loosens its grip.
And that you begin to experience what it feels like to live awake, present, and free.
You do not need to rush this book.
You do not need to agree with everything immediately.
You only need to stay honest—and stay open.
Freedom is closer than you think.
With love,
Rev. Frederick March
