Dave Bailey

Meet Dave Bailey—a middle-aged caffeine-fueled wordsmith who has spent over 25 years navigating the wonderful, unpredictable adventure called marriage. When he's not lost in the labyrinth of his own imagination, you’ll find him doing one of two things: writing a bunch of nonsense (some of which mysteriously turns into gamebooks) or consuming enough coffee to keep his keyboard smoking.

Dave is a man of many passions—mostly writing, with a side of reading (because let’s be honest, one fuels the other). When he’s not plotting epic adventures for dungeoneers to enjoy, he’s in the kitchen attempting to conquer the culinary world one recipe at a time. Italian cuisine, history, fashion, cars, landscapes—you name it, he adores it. He even visited Italy once, just to confirm his obsession was justified.

Spoiler alert: It was.

Gamebooks have been a fascination of his since childhood, inspired by legendary creators like Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone of Fighting Fantasy fame, and Joe Dever, the mastermind behind Lone Wolf. In fact, if given the chance, he could talk your ear off about gamebooks for an entire week straight.

(You've been warned.)

Beyond his love for storytelling, Dave holds a deep appreciation for Dungeons & Dragons and other tabletop games. Why? Because they were the blueprint for so many of the things we now take for granted—video games, great novels, blockbuster movies. To honor those pioneers, he encourages every adventurer to pick up a pen and craft their own gamebooks or tabletop games. Who knows? You might accidentally create something amazing—just like he did.

At the end of the day, Dave is just your average Joe who happened to get carried away writing adventures. He may not be slaying dragons himself, but he sure knows how to keep busy crafting worlds for others to explore. So, grab a gamebook, roll the dice, and let’s see where this adventure takes you!
