Writerpalooza
For the writer who wants to commit to themselves to write every day in November (or any month!)
Each November, thousands of writers will try to write a book in 30 days. Many of them complete their first draft of a novel. Some nonfiction writers like to use the month to write a draft of their book or create some other personal type of challenge.
Having participated in a November month-long write-in as both a fiction and nonfiction writer, I always felt there was something missing. Call it my “trying to include everyone” mentality, but I felt there was a gap.
That’s why in 2024 I hosted the first November WriterPalooza. We didn't strive for a stressful goal of drafting a novel in a month. In fact, I encouraged taking the thought of writing a certain number of words or pages off the table.
Instead, the focus was on what it really takes to be a writer.
Writing.
You aren’t a writer if you think about writing. You are a writer because you write.
During WriterPalooza the goal is to write or work on advancing your writing with consistency every day during a 30-day time span. Ideally, you choose one focus project.
Then. You write. Every day. 30 Days.
The focus isn’t on output, but rather on the action of consistency.
