Twins of Evil

Identical twin sisters Maria and Frieda Gellhorn (played by real-life twins Madeleine and Mary Collinson) arrive in a Puritan village to live with their strict, fanatical uncle, Gustav Weil (Peter Cushing), who leads a brutal witch-hunting brotherhood called the Brotherhood of the Righteous.

While Maria is sweet and obedient, Frieda is rebellious and drawn to the dark side. She soon falls under the influence of the charismatic, centuries-old vampire Count Karnstein (Damien Thomas), who turns her into a vampire.

As Frieda embraces her new bloodlust and begins preying on the village, her twin Maria gets caught in the middle. Uncle Gustav and his hunters ramp up their violent crusade against “evil,” while the vampire threat grows.

The film is the third and final movie in Hammer’s “Karnstein Trilogy” (after The Vampire Lovers and Lust for a Vampire).
