Tattoo Studio Profit Tracker
Tattoo Studio Profit Tracker Excel for your tattoo shop — service pricing, session profit, supplies inventory, and a monthly P and L dashboard. Know what every session actually costs — and whether the month actually made money.
Built for tattoo studio owners and independent artists who need to know, service by service and session by session, whether the hourly rate covers the supplies, the artist share, and the rent — without accounting software. If a service is losing money, this workbook shows it before the next booking.
WHAT'S INCLUDED (6 sheets):
- Services and Pricing — average hours, supplies cost and artist share per session, cost per hour, price per hour, and margin in dollars and percent for every service. Change a cost and every session profit updates by formula.
- Sessions Log — date, client, artist, service, hours, rate per hour, revenue, cost per hour pulled from the service sheet, profit per session, and margin. Log hourly work, flat-rate flash, and free touch-ups in one place.
- Supplies and Inventory — supply, unit, quantity on hand, reorder point, cost per unit, and stock value. Anything at or below its reorder point is flagged LOW STOCK so you buy it before the next session.
- Monthly P and L — revenue, artist and supplies cost, rent, utilities, and other expenses by month, Jan-Dec, with net profit and margin. Revenue and session cost are formulas from the Sessions sheet.
- Dashboard — total revenue, sessions, billable hours, average session value, gross and net profit and margin, best service by margin per hour and by margin percent, best-selling service, best session and best artist, costs by category, and low stock count.
- Cover and How to Use — start here. Yellow cells are the only ones you edit.

HOW IT WORKS:
1. Download the Excel file instantly after purchase.
2. On sheet 1, enter each service's average hours, supplies cost per session, artist share per session, and price per hour. Cost per hour and margin fill in by formula.
3. On sheet 2, log every session: date, client, artist, service (spelled exactly as on sheet 1), hours, and rate per hour. Revenue, cost per hour, and profit fill in by formula.
4. On sheet 3, keep quantities on hand current and set a reorder point for each supply. Buy more of anything flagged LOW STOCK before the next session.
5. On sheet 4, enter rent, utilities, and other expenses each month, then check gross and net profit on the Dashboard.
HOW THE NUMBERS WORK:
Cost per hour is (supplies cost per session plus artist share per session) divided by average hours. Margin per hour is price per hour minus cost per hour. Margin percent is margin per hour divided by price per hour. Gross profit is revenue minus supplies and artist cost; net profit is revenue minus supplies and artist cost, rent, utilities, and other expenses. One billable hour is one unit.
WHO IT'S FOR:
Tattoo studio owners, shop managers, and independent tattoo artists who want service pricing, session profit, supplies inventory, and a monthly P and L in one workbook — without accounting software.
PLEASE NOTE:
- This is a digital download. No physical item will be shipped.
- Works in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets (upload to Google Drive to open in Sheets).
- Example data for October 2026 is included (12 services, 20 sessions, 52.25 hours, 3 artists, 14 supplies). Replace it with your own numbers.
- The example is simplified: free touch-up sessions lose 8.00 each in the example because they cost supplies and time with no charge, and flash tattoos earn the lowest margin per hour. Artist share is entered as a flat amount per session in the example — change it to a percentage of the session price on sheet 1 if your artists are paid that way.
- This is a bookkeeping and planning tool only, not tax, legal, or CPA advice.
- Due to the nature of digital downloads, refunds are not available. Message me before buying if you have a question.
