Python Web Page Audit Toolkit
Run a safe, repeatable audit of one public web page from the command line or a small local JSON API—without accounts, crawling, or intrusive testing.
Use this dependency-free Python toolkit to turn a public-page review into a clear QA report. It checks HTTP status, redirects, response time, HTTPS, common security headers, title and meta-description length, H1 structure, image alt text, mixed-content references, and basic page signals.
INCLUDED
• audit.py — CLI with Markdown or JSON output
• server.py — optional localhost JSON endpoint
• Dockerfile and docker-compose.yml
• Automated tests and setup documentation
• MIT license
EXAMPLE
python3 audit.py https://example.com --format markdown --output report.md
python3 server.py --port 8080
The tool follows normal redirects, limits the response body to 500 KB, and uses only Python’s standard library. It does not log in, submit forms, crawl, bypass controls, or attempt exploitation. Review only pages you are authorized to inspect.
Immediate digital delivery. Suitable for freelance QA, website handoffs, and lightweight CI smoke checks.
