Farmers Market Dress

This pattern is an A-line dress that features a square neckline with a ruffle insert in the shoulder darts and closes with a side zipper and clasp. The open back has a tie closure detail. The skirt extends past the knee. This is a design I started between 2010 and had about 3 or 4 tries to get the fit correct between 2010 and 2013. Coming back to the pattern after a long hiatus was a bit daunting, but since I spent so much effort on the fit, it sewed up like a dream. I am very pleased to share this look with you. This pattern offers a facing or a fully lined dress. In the instructions, if I mention a lining, I am referring to the facing as well.

This is a project that requires some finesse, patience, and a bit more skill to sew. I highly recommend you read and re-read the pattern before commencing. I made three toiles of the bodice front and back only before getting the correct fit. The back is quite open, so you can modify it by creating a V-shape if you prefer a more romantic look.

Waist 25.5-35.5
Hip is free in the dress.
