Cupid’s Arrow is a top down shawl that starts with a garter tab and increases on both ends and along the spine of the right side, giving your finished shawl a classic, easy to wear triangle shape.

The inspiration for this shawl came to me on Valentines Day. I had been working on this stitch pattern for a few days and just couldn’t get it to fit with the shape that I was going for. I showed it to my husband and he said that it looks like an arrow and then it clicked! I was trying to make an arrow fit where it didn’t belong. I do have a habit of trying to force things instead of just letting them fall into place, a fact that my husband points out to me more often than I care to admit! I decided to call the pattern Cupid’s Arrow in honor of the special relationship that we have. We were high school sweethearts and in the almost thirty years that we have been together I have never once regretted being struck by Cupid’s Arrow all those years ago. I know how special and rare that is and the fact that he is also one of my biggest cheerleaders makes it all that much more perfect. I also knew that I had the perfect yarn for a Cupid’s Arrow in my stash. Isn’t this red from Dragonfly Fibers just the most perfect red?
