For generations, communities have relied on newsletters, pamphlets, and independent publications to share information, organize, and preserve memory especially when mainstream systems failed or excluded us.

This 1.5-hour live class explores the history and purpose of grassroots newsletters and offers a hands-on introduction to creating your own using Canva.

In this class, we’ll cover:

• A brief history of grassroots newsletters & publications
• Why newsletters remain powerful in today’s digital landscape (back to analog - as a millennial I'm hype!)
• How to design a simple, effective newsletter or publication using Canva
• Tips for clarity, accessibility, and sustainability
